Could be taken further

A cool if somewhat unposlished nod to SotC that could improved in some ways.

You couldn't really tell the presence of the huge beasts that much since they just kinda stood there. It would've been awesome if, say, they were moving their limbs and you had to time your jumps to get from limb to limb and all that. Another problem was that the monsters were so huge that you had to rely on leaps of faith sometimes, and you couldn't really tell what kind of monster you were climbing.

The graphics were, honestly, pretty bad. There were a ton of bland looking copy-pasted rocks and grass all over the place, and stuff like the vines just looked messy. The art style in the cutscenes was pretty good, but the colorfull, high contrast images clashed with the awesome atmosphere. The story was kinda 'meh' overall. I wouldn't miss it if it weren't there at all.

But, like I said, the atmosphere was amazing. The weather effects, the music, the shaky camera and the muted colors during gameplay really came together to give the whole thing an epic feeling.

As for gameplay, there were a bunch of jumps I think I should've made but didn't, and there were the aforementioned leaps of faith. The health meter was also kinda redundant since if you lost health but didn't die, you had probably jumped to the wrong place. It also would've been nice to see proper swimming instead of walking underwater, but I suppose that would break some of the levels.

I don't suppose you'd want to collab with me and take this whole thing further?

Incredible

This is probably one of the best games on NG. Kudos for taking up the hefty task of making a Metroidvania in Flash. And giving it out for free (I still love you, VVVVVV ;) ) Incredible atmosphere, makes you feel alone and somewhat frightened (just as a Metroidvanias should, imo; you are exploring an alien world after all). Loved the glitchiness and really, REALLY intricate level design. Iit's amazing how much you can do with the simple switch mechanic.

Nice, but similar to Auditorium

Very nice art and atmosphere, and its cool that the level sharing thing is implemented, but this is way too similar, and in many ways inferior, to a game called Auditorium. Also, the difficulty curve is a bit all over the place. Some levels may take minutes to figure out, while the ones right after those can be finished in seconds.

Nice

Cool little game. Great art and smooth animation. Very cool song. The game was kinda short and doesn't really have any replay value, though. Pressing the arrow keys was really hard, you should do something about that.

Got a score of 10027.

Pretty good :)

T'was a bit on the simple side but fun game nonetheless.

Gameplay was quite fun, yet repedative (sp?). Should've added some puzzles or something. The weapons also weren't balanced very well. The physics engine was pretty good but the water in the sewer level seemed strange.

Graphics were, yet again, simple but effective. Not much to say here except that you could've added a little more variety to the look of the enemies. Walking cycle was strange.

Sound was really great. The music added a very creepy feel to the game. All the weapons and zombies also sounded well.

A great game but story would've done for something as atmospheric as this. Not a big problem, though.

Good job! :)

lol

Flash of the year, hands down. lol.

Seriously, it was pretty funny regardless of what that little guy in the flash said.

Thanks :D

Best of the DDR clones

This is the best DDR-esque flash games in my opinion. It has great music, balanced gameplay and nice graphics.

Gameplay was very good for this kind of game. The story was ok. I really liked that the arrows flew across the screen in rythm. Listening to the song was very important. If you messed up, you could easily get back on track. Although, I only got to the angreh faic pick :l

I really liked the music selection. It wasn't some techno crap. Definetaly one of the strong points of the game.

Graphics were quite simple and, in my opinion, that's a good thing. Usually rythm games have over-the-top graphics and effects and you can't really concentrate on the gameplay.

Great work! :)

Rock>>Techno as for the graphics, that's exactly why I didn't make it so fancy :) Gameplay and replay value are the most important things.

Good game

I won't really get into seriously critiquing it since it was made in 3 hours. Graphics were meh, music was annoying, gameplay was brilliant.

My best score was 419.

Thanks for the comments buddy ;). This game was kinda made just to pass time real quick, I just blurted out some code and decided to make a game. Glad you liked the game play.

Nice and relaxing

A great game. Not because of the gameplay as much as the feel and presentation. Don't get me wrong, though. The gameplay was nice but there wasn't much to it. Just a platformer with a bit of a twist.

I really loved the concept. A small doggy and his handicaped owner taking a long nice, walk around the park really put a smile on my face.

The sound was lovely too. Music was relaxing and the dogs barks were priceless :)

If you want more interesting gameplay, you should add more interactivity. Seeing and interacting with other dogs and people would help a lot.

All in all, I look at this as a stress killer more then a full-fleged game. If that was your intension, good job!

Only one flaw

The game is awesome. It has a great concept and it is presented well. The only problem was that there were a lot of enemies surounding me most of the time and it's too hard to kill all of them.
